Skepta is a British rapper whose real name is Joseph Junior Adenuga Jr. He started his career as a DJ for Meridian Crew, but when the group disbanded, he began MCing, as well. Skepta and his brother eventually joined the British grime crew, Roll Deep, then founded their own record label, Boy Better Know, in 2006. Skepta dropped his first single in 2008, followed by an album the next year. He has since released follow-up studio albums in 2011, 2016 and 2019, as well as a series of mixtapes. He has been nominated for various BRIT Awards and BET Awards, even winning the honor of Best International Act: U.K. at the BET Awards in 2016. Skepta has a daughter named River, who was born in 2018, and in Oct. 2019, he was rumored to be dating Adele, who had just split from her husband months earlier.
